cutting carbon arrows

RE: cutting carbon arrows
I'm sure it would cut it just fine. The trick would be getting a square cut!

RE: cutting carbon arrows
I just used a cut off disk on my Dremel. Did the trick. I only used me eyes to square it up so I made sure my first cut was 1/16 longer then I wanted. Then just used the disk to sand it down square and to length. Worked like a charm.

RE: cutting carbon arrows
I've heard that it will work fine. After all, it is a high speed cut-off saw.
Somebody on here built a jig to keep the cuts square. That's what I would do too. Then I would find a way to mass produce it, and sell it too all of you guys. ;):D |

RE: cutting carbon arrows
i've never thought about using my dremel. i will have to rig up a board to make my cuts square. maybe even build a holder for the dremel like a miter saw. ah now there we go. i will try something and tell you guys how it works.

RE: cutting carbon arrows
I used to use my dremel to cut arrows all the time. Just like the other guys said cut your arrows a hair long and then sand the ends down to make sure they're square. Or go to Harbor Freight and buy that $20 mini cut-off saw, that thing works like a charm.
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=42307 Looks like the price went up on it, I got mine for $20 on sale. |
RE: cutting carbon arrows
Folks, be very very careful about what happens to the dust when cutting carbon arrows. If that stuff gets into your lungs it ain't coming out. Breathe enough of it and you might as well have been a pack-a-day smoker since age 2. While you're rigging things up, rig up your shop vac to suck away the stuff.
Just be careful allright? |
