Shot My New Bow

Well I went to my local range and shot my new/used Browning Blood Brother today and I must say it sure shoots fine. It's a 20yd range so I need to get outside and sight in 30 and 40 (three pin sight) but it's on the money at 20yds. I didn't paper tune because all of my arrows were straight in the target and I didn't notice any erratic arrow flight. If I have problems at 30 and 40 yds I will paper tune.

I shoot 544grn carbon arrows and the bow was right at 266fps

The one thing I did find is that the Carolina Foxfire TP sight while very easy to adjust and sight in, the windage locking nut tended to come loose. It's a knarledthumb nutand it has ahole drilled in it.I strongly recommenedusing an allen wrenchin the hole(asI'm sure that's why it's there)to getbetter leverage to tighten the nut. I tightened it as hard as I could with my fingers but itwas loose after about 10 shots. Aftercinching it down with the allen wrench it stayed put.

Thelittle set nuts for the actual pinsstayed tight with just finger pressure but the elevation and windage nutsneed to be torqued with the allen wrench (or some other kind of small rod) after it's sighted in.

Other than that I wasimpressed with the sight and how easy it was to get a good target acquisition with it.

If I have no problems sighting it at 30 and 40 yards I will with out a doubt be hunting with it this year. Great bow..........but then again, it IS a Browning:D

Dave,

No it's 70lbs @ 32in

My other Browning (Boss Tracker) is set at 33in butthis onefelt more comfortable at 32inso I measured it andit actually measured outat 32 1/2 even though it's set at 32in. The A to A is right at 41in like it's supposed to be, so I guess it's just off a little. Probably not too uncommon.

That would explain two things. Your speed and the reason they call you BigJ....:) Pretty impressive numbers there.

PA,

Man I tell ya, I'm not a speed demon by any means but I must say I was impressed! I shot 5 arrows thru the chrono and the first arrow went 265fps the next four were all at 266fps. The 5 arrows weighed in at 544.3 to 546.1

I could tellfrom my first shot, I thought "man that got to the targetPDQ!" I feel like a kid again with a new toy.....wait I am.....only i'm "cough!" 40:)
