yes it is a 10pt. i will try to get better pics. of him tonight. i am going out to set the camera again, last weekend i saw him again. he is now only coming out real close to dark. but i will see what i can do.
oh, and deisel, i have never had the chance to see a 140-150 class buck in the wild. so yes it was a guess by me, but even if it is 10" less then the record, only missing by 1" per tine, i think i was pretty close for my first sight of a 140" in the field! not all of hunt those game farms and see big bucks all the time! i bet i can out guess you on ELK!

If you use Buckeye's tape measure from last year, it could be a 180" buck.

What keeps MOST 140" class 10 pointers out of the 150" range is short G4's. This buck has very nice G4s as you can tell. I'm guessing that buck is going to have average mass at about 32-34" per side, which isint bad considering this is a middle age buck. I would also venture to say that this buck would gross about 152-154", but I dont think he will net over 150. I think he will net in the 145"-148" range.

Anytime you see a 10 point buck like this one, if he has long G4s and everything else looks "average" or slightly above average then chances are your looking at a 150" class animal.

Manboy:

I forgot to mention that this past season in one of the food plots I found a shed thats from a buck similar to the one in your picture. Nobody thought it would break 150" except for me, and I only felt that way because of his G4. The buck had a8 3/4" G4 and everything else was average including his estimated 16 1/2" spread. But if the other side would match the one I found, the buck would still gross 152". I feel confident that your buck would gross over 150", but I dont think he will net that high. Good luck this season..

I think that you might have made a typo here...32-34" of massPER SIDEis a total of 64-68" mass for both sides combined, meaning that all the "H" measurements equal or exceed 8". You musthavement he had a total of 32-34"...which is around an average of 4" per mass measurement, which sounds about right.

145 is still way bigger than i have ever shot. but if he is not a record book buck, i am not going to hold out for him. i have seen alot of 130 class bucks in this area. so anything that will make pope and young and has a nice look to it i will take. and as for the "fill the freezer" idea, well my daughter and i both have elk tags. and we have deer tags, antelope tags, so groceries isn't a problem.
i am looking to take a nice buck on video with my daughter, man that is awesome.
