Ahhh...I must be getting old, I remember the original post!
Anyway, great tips Matt.
I will only add, that with the advent of computer technology, one who takes pictures should really learn the basic minimum of running Adobe Photoshop or at least the basic software that comes with your digital camera.
Most dark shots can be lightened up, enhanced, polarized, posterized...ah, the results are endless.
Anyway, what it allows for is to compensate for dark/twilight shots. Take those shots of BuckMagnet. If you were to enhance those in photoshop, you could lighten up the background to the point where you should be able to see the entire background, and you can eliminate most of the flash glare...
And above all else, learn how to use the pen so you can erase/cover up red/flash eye...

I was debating on putting the tounge back in his mouth LOL, but it was pretty warm out so I had to act quick. The pic was taken at the place were I take my deer. There is an gentleman at the end of our road whom is a retired butcher from safeway he built a little 12x12 walk in refrigerator, and he has all the meat tools to pretty much do anything you want to your deer. He charges $60-80 dollars depending on the size of the deer, and he will cut what ever you want. Pretty nice in the early season!

Heres a picture of a buck my dad shot opening morning and after he shot, it took off and ran into a tree and broke off one of its antlers we never found it.
