RE: bow sounds load in blind??
I would say yes, I shoot my bow along side a building and fence and yes- cannon goes boom!
But out and away from anything it's very quiet. Hopefully the deer won't hear it as loud as we do, just incase you may want to aim for the heart. |
RE: bow sounds load in blind??
I noticed the same thing the first time i shot my bow out of my Penthouse blind. It was so loud inside there. I have only got the chance to take 1 shot a deer out of my bow at a deer and it jumped the string. I dont think it was because of the noise, the doe was nervous when she came in. I think she was just weary of the new object in the area. Dont really know if they can hear the bow inside the blind, im sure it muffles the sound hear outside alot. I have seen so many people use ground blinds successfully on t.v. that it makes me believe that the sound inside the blind doesnt make much diffrence.

RE: bow sounds load in blind??
You never know just how loud your bow really is until you shoot it somewhere that the sound can't travel freely .

RE: bow sounds load in blind??
If you really want to find out exactly how loud your bow is, I have found two ways that work well. I either enlist the help of a friend or relative to shoot my bow while I stand 20 yards or so away and listen to exactly how loud it is. You could also have him shoot it from inside the blind, because there is a chance that the sound is actually being muffled by the blind. If you can't find someone to shoot your bow, you can go and set your video camera on a tripod and tape it. This way you can listen to it when you are done shooting and find out how loud itreally is.
