RE: A little help please.........

I wish both you and the landowner luck but I don't think it is as easy as who hunts him first. I know in my area if a buck gets that big he is really hard to take. If your landowner doesn't really mind if you shoot him first then I would give it my best try, because your best chance at him will probably be the first time you go into his area to hunt him. But just try and think if the landowner will still be happy with you if you shoot this buck before he can even get a chance to hunt him.

You haven't explained your relationship with the landowner and that could be a deciding factor. Anything but a close personal friend or relative and you will probably have problem. If you shoot the big buck before he gets a shot at hunting it he may get upset. If you hunt hard for the buck and spook it out onto another piece of private land he mat get mad also. I say that unless you feel that this person is really 100% ok with you shooting the big buck on his land you should wait till after he gets a chance this fall and then try to take the deer. I don't know how long the muzzleloader season is there but I'd say a month was enough time to give him first shot.
