How many hunters here also fish. i know i do andlots of us do.iwas curious to see how many actually do.

Been fishing my whole life.........in fact fly fishing is my real area of expertise. (I just fake this whole bowhunting/archery thing;))
I was a fly fishing guide for 5yrs in Montana, Yellowstone, and NY Catskill region, a fly casting instructor as well as an avid fly tyer.
Wish I had more time to do both.....unfortunately it's the fly fishing that suffers.

Although I love to hunt more than just about anything ,fishing for walleye take's up a very close second .I also like fishing other species of fish but walleye taste the best .

nubo your the man.. in the fall where a live the walleyes are crusin the shore lines and man it is fun get home from bow hunting.then 10pm go and cast and catch limit of walleyes!!!(sometimes) usally end up with 2 or 3 nice walleye a night in a hour or so.. when there in its like bluegills every cast....

Typically just trout a half dozen or so times throughout the year but I get out.

I really dont freshwater fish anymore. Maybe a trip or two to new york for salmon/steelhead is about all i do for freshwater. I mostly salt water fish anymore. I cant get excited to catch a 7" trout. I had a bad experience and almost drowned someone.

Thank god my last bass tourney of the year is sept.11, or i'd have a hard decision between bowhunting opening weekend and bass fishing. I'd probably fish and then do an evening hunt. I'm almost as hardcore as bass fisherman as i am bowhunter.I really love fishing bass because it gives me something to continue with a full passion other than bowhunting. My turkey hunting has suffered as a result, but what the heck..if i can chase whitetails from sept-jan, and bass from april to september, I'm a happy outdoorsman.

Fly fishing for trout is my other addiction. :) Though a couple times a yearI'll grab my gear and do some fishing in the riversor lakes.

I began fishing "religously" with my grandfather when I was about 9-10 years old. As has been the norm since I was 12-13, Sept-Jan I am hunting. Feb-March it's chasing BIG MOMMA small and largemouth bass in the shallows. April I mix up the fishing with chasing turkeys. May-mid July I fish mainly for largemouth. Maybe late July and Aug I fish a time or two at night, but mainly it's to danged hot for this ol fatboy so the bassboat usually becomes a 20ft 225hp beercooler which all but has autopilot too the local beach and hangout! ;)

I live stricktly to fish, come October i dry out for a few month and head for the mountains to hunt. By January it's time to get wet again. Saltwater only, nothing big enough in freshwater.

i bowhunt everyday of the year i possibly can. i fish the whole spring and beginning of summerand after that it is getting ready for bowhunting and bowhunting from mid summer to december.

I have started fishing this summer, though I havent been in a few weeks as my old truck that I use to pull the boat had a blow out and I havent gotten around to getting another tire on it yet. Though like RedAllison said, it has been so hot lately that it has turned into a highly mobile cooler. :)

I have been in a bass club for the past 7 yrs;)
Not only that I have bass turny this weekend. A night turny that starts at 3.00pm and ends at 12.00 midnight.

I live and grew around the chesapeake, so fishing is part of my life. Been fishing since i can remember. Got a boat, love to catch stripers, and back water fishing for bass and whatnot. But ive been hunting since i was 5. I will say that i spend more time hunting than fishing. Between, bow season, and the great goose and duck hunting my area offers my hunting time adds up quickly. Waterfowling isalso a passionand i plan to put down the 12 gauge and use my stick and string this year!!! I'll post the picks when i stick one. But bowhunting for deer surpasses them all.

Been fishing as long as I can remember. Only the last couple years have I been more excited about deer hunting. I'm just thankful for seasons, otherwise I'd have a heck of a time juggling both

I am like Matt/Pa. I guided here in Oregon for five years on the big fish water we have here. FFF casting instructor and I tied for all the local shops. Now I am out of school and have a real job and no time to guide. I still love to throw line though.

P.S. that is a native trout in my avatar cought 10min from my house in the lake. They grow them big here.

I fish probably more than I hunt. I live in an apartment complex with 3x large stocked ponds, about 10 acres total of water. I fish probably 3x a week there.

I also grew up in central Vermont. I have fished some of the best trout streams on the east coast and have been fortunate enought to catch many native browns and rainbows in the 3-5lb range. A lot of the best places I know make the Battenkill look like horrible fishing......;) I fly fish, tie my own, attended many orvis events in Manchester, VT and have fished all up and down the east coast as well. I have been fortunate enough to fish in every state in New England except for Rhode Island, and also Maryland, PA, Delaware, NY etc. I regularly fish for trout, bass, pike, walleye, catfish, carp, whatever is swimming around when I have time to go......:) As soon as I get this whole marriage and buying a house thing over will and financially recover, I will be buying a boat. Can't wait..:eek:

I love off-shore fishing and bass fishing as well. I think it takes a hunter to make a goodbass fisherman because your hunting the bass in structures, ect. I enjoy throwing a lure out and and not know if its a dink or 10 pounder when I set up.

I love to stalk those rising trout with fly rod in hand along the banks of the river. I think it's a lot like hunting because you specifically target individuals that you can see and you gotta be sneaky. Been fishin and huntin since I can remember. I do miss the smallmouth bass as there are not too many opportunities for them around here.

hunting is a good sport but fishing is also..in the summer i always go up to my gpas cabin and fish for walleyes..good eatin fish i tell ya what ;)

Looks like I am in the minortiy, I very rarely fish. I can't even remember the last time I did fish. If I am not waterfowl or bowhunting, I am out scouting.

I agree, pulling a big rock fish is cool but nothing beats harvesting a whitetail with a few sticks and some string.

Fishing got me started in the outdoors. I just started bowhunting 2 years ago. So I guess I'm really a fisherman that hunts alot.

I participate in B.A.S.S. tournaments, and I used to fly fishing religiously before I moved to South Texas. The closest trout to me now is in the Cabelas Aquarium

I love fishing. Just bought a BASSRAIDER this summer (its a lil 10 ft. electric). I go for bass mostly but also do some saltwater for Striped bass.
If it wasnt for fishing what would we do in the offseason in New England.

I love saltwater fishing inshore and offshore. Not too much of a fresh water fisherman, but will probably start doing it more now that my daughter is almost 3 and loves to fish.

I fish in the hunting "off-season."

For all types of fish. But I like fishing for, and would rather catch, crappie.
