DISTANCE-DOE URINE-BDU'S?

For a bow that is 50 ibs-whats the farthest distance that you should shoot at a deer?------

What is better-Code Blue doe urine or Ticks 69?-------

Is it wise to hunt in military BDU's and a boonie hat?

I always stick to 30 yards or less (90% of my shots are 10-20 yds), and I shoot at almost 80 pounds. At 50 pounds, you might want to keep it 20 or under. Just practice a lot. Get some haybales and go at it. You'll know your limits.

As for the scents, either one is ok, but I've had good luck with the Tinks 69 after the 3rd week of October.

Any camo is just as good as the next. I think Chuck Adams wore BDU-style camo patterns his whole life. If you're on a tight budget, spend your money on a good treestand, don't waste it on expensive Mossy Oak. In the early season, I only wear my LaCrosse neoprene boots, a pair of camo pants, and an olive green Under Armour shirt. If your stand is hidden well, and you sit still, you can bowhunt in red flannel. Even in the best camo, you canget busted if you move at the wrong time.BDU stuff is fine. It's rugged, warm and cheap. If you get skunked, it won't be because of your camo.

As the other poster already stated, you will tend to discover over time that 90% of your shots come from within 20 yards or so. I can only recall a few hunts where I shot in excess of 20 yards. Most often the deer come right at you if your stand is setup correctly. I'm dead-on from 0-25 and pretty good groupings from 25-30 or so, but concentrate most of my shooting from 15-20 yards out.

As for equipment, spend your hard earned money on a good bow, good arrows, good broadheads and a good stand (with full body safetly harness). These are the keys to success. You could basically go hunting with this equipment alone and just wear jeans and sneakers. I will tell you this...my success in hunting did not come about until I was confident I had a good bow, practiced A LOT and purchased a rock solid stand and used a full body harness. Being up high is a nervous situation, but it's easy to forget the height as long as you have confidence in your stand and safety harness. With my safety harness securely fastened, it sometimes feels I am shooting from the ground as I don't care how high up I am because I know I am secured! Good luck.

Cut on contact fixed heads only..30 yards
Forget the stinky stuff. Hunt the wind and stay clean.
The camo is fine.
