bowhuntin' gators/have a question
 

i'll be going on my first gator hunt here in a few weeks...i went to a seminar in orlando yesterday and now i'm allllll confused...the FWC briefly explained about bow huntin' gators but now i'm left wondering how they can be considered a bow kill if you only use the bow to stick the initial bouy line into it...after you get the lines in them and bring them to the boat you still have to use something besides an arrow to actually sever the spinal cord....can any of y'all explain this to me??

Well, I can't speak inteligently, as I am not from FL, or ever hunted gators, but I can say this.........I sure would want to make dag gon sure that thing was dead before I pulled it in the boat....I would suspect it is for safety reasons.

from what i understand you have to get the lines in them and then pull them up to the boat in order to shoot with the bangstick or wrap their mouths with the tape so you can kill them at that point...the bangstick has to be done while the gators head is under water but have noooooooooooo freakin' clue as to how we're going to get it under control so i can scramble its brains....anyone??
