Somethingmay beloose, somewhere on your bow.

RE: quieter bow
I would tend to agree with TX. The combination of what you put on typically is enough to quelch most shot noise from most bows. Either your bow was excessively loud to begin with or something is loose on it. The only other two options would be to install a good stabilizer (Sims Enhancer 2000 or modular, Stealth) or to shoot heavier arrows (which absorb more shot energy..ie, noise and vibration).
Hope this helps. |
RE: quieter bow
I always find it hard to tell if a sound reducing device is working. Have a friend stand off to the side as you shoot and ask them how loud your bow sounds. If it is a clunking sound, there is probably something loose or broken.

RE: quieter bow
ive shot with my dad several time and he says that he can deffinitly hear it,, i have shot before with my quiver off and it dont seem any different then either,,but i am pretty sure every thing is tight but maybe not,,and it could also be me but compared to fathers pearson predator it is kinda loud

RE: quieter bow
Have you tried a good stabilizer/sound dampner? If yes, your bow may just be loud. I had the original Browning Mirage with two radical cams and I just couldn't quiet it down. The thing sounded like a cannon going off.

RE: quieter bow
i do have a stabilizer on it,,it can off a bear whitetialii that my dad has i aint sure or brand tho,but it could be like u said and could be just loud,,i wonder if i should take every thing off of it and shot it and see what it sounds like,,probbly gain 20fps in doing so

RE: quieter bow
Bows were'nt made to be pampered, smack on it some. if there's something loose you'll find it

RE: quieter bow
I had a hoyt defiant and i couldnt figure out hte noise then i found out that inside the stablizer was broken and it was making the noise. i would check there take the stablizer of and give it a shot.

RE: quieter bow
Can you tighten the limb bolts? If you can shoot it maxed out will give the best results.
|
RE: quieter bow
ive check all the bolts and screw and they are all tight
RAKTRAKR, have tried this and the olny thing i found was my quiver moves and when i shoot with it on and then take it off i can tell a differents motown, it was just about as loud before as it is now so i dont think that is it jsasker, i have my limb bolts bottomed out the bows peak is 55# and that is what it is at i guess i'll have to live with a noisy bow owell,,thanks for the input guys |
RE: quieter bow
do you use rubber tubing on a peep. They make a lot of noise.
|
RE: quieter bow
i have silicon but that is probally one reason it is loud but it does not sound like a rubber smack,,not realy to sure what it is,,would switch to a peep that does not have the tubing but afraid that i will have align ment issues
|
RE: quieter bow
i boutght a peep that does not have tubing and it helped with the slap but it was still noisy so i decided to take leeches and whiskers off the string,,man that thing was loud and had a tremedeos amount of string vibrating,,so i put new whishers in and doubled up on the leeches it is quieter now
