How many pins do you have on your sight?
 

Im having a hard time on deciding what brand and how many pins to get. I like my cobra easy slide for hunting in east TN, but im going on a elk hunt this fall and might need something a little more versatile? Thanks for any feedback

I got a pendulum so, one, when I'm in the tree, When I get on the ground I have a a machined plate thatfastens on the side and I have three pins on it. So I got what ever..

I have the HHA 5500 with the rheostatoverlike 5 feet of fiber optic cable. 1 pin dead center inside a nice, easy to aim circular sight window with marks at10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards.I plan to keep it set at 25 and adjust it only if the deer comes inside 20 yards and I have time.

1 pin. HHA on a slider. Keep it locked at 27 yards, and hold on from 0 - 35 or so.

2 - 28 and 42 yds. What animal walks out at 20, 30, 40, etc.?? None. I've learned to sight in my 2 pins based on my setup. My bow is very flat and stays in thekill zone to 28 yards (hunt Mulies and Elk, but use a 5 inch square as my "kill zone". The 28-42 yd range is similiar from top to bottom of a small kill zone. Then I use 42+ for anything I feel is longer. Using this method and matching the pins to my bow and not set yardage, I've learn to shoot on feel and not yardage. Too many people "round" yardages and guess 30, when he might be 27 or 33. Also, too many pins clutters your view. I would like to go back to shooting 1 35 yd pin, but found this other method extremely effective and it works very, very well. Just my 2 cents.

I bought the Copper John Dead Nuts sight with five pins. I am only going to use two, so I checked other. I will use the green for 15 yards, and th eyellow for 35. I will not use the red pins, since they do not show up too good.

I have shot 1 pin for years, sighted in at 22yds. Works great...no guessing. I don't really shoot past 30yds, so no need for a bunch of extra pins IMO.

For 3D, I use 4 pins, for hunting I will use 3 pins

I'm using 0 pins. They really do get in the way especially for hunting.

One Pin= no chance for confusion. I have hunted with 3 then 2 and now one. I know it is different in other areas, but where I am I do not have a need to shoot out past 30 yds, so I have it sighted in at 20 or a little more or lessdepending on the set up and you can cover up to that 20yd mark within the kill zone quite easily.

IMO it is what you feel comfortable with and until you experiment you will not know what fits you and your set up.

1 pin. HHA adjustable with lines for 20, 30, 40, 50, 60. I have the trees at my spot painted with numbers on them for yarfage. When a deer comes to feed, I see the tree next to him and adjust if I have to.

1 pin- I have the Cosmic Ring and I like it a lot, it has plenty of brightness during low light conditions and no mistakes for using the wrong pin

Only got one pin on my Toxonics slide sight. 5 pins on my Archers Choice sight. But it's been three years since the last time either of them were mounted on a bow. Only used them for target and 3D anyway. I hate sights on a hunting bow.

I use a spot-hogg real deal with one pin. I just sight my bow in for 27 yards and I am good from 0-35 yards

I am set up with 4 25, 35 ,45 and no way 55.Never need to shoot past 45 really.Dont know if I would or not I guess it depended on how late the season was.Also how much meat is in my freezer.
