Young animal [1 1/2 to 2 years old] . . . I'd let him grow.

I don't like antlers still in velvet though . . . it just is a turn off for me.

Yes i would shot him considering i have not yet to shoot anything with antlers yet,,and also cause where i hunt i see very few bucks,,only saw one last year during gun season,,did not shot do to buck fever

Even in my neck of the woods, Im gonna let him go another year. Great little buck though, and hes def. got some potential!

NO WAY.... a yearling buck shoudl NEVER be taken unless your a first time hunter and/or a youth. Good luck this season though.

Never shoot a yearling? Come on! I know plenty of guys that would love a chance at a deer like this. You can't superimpose your standards on others. If he's legal and that buck is considered what that person wants, go for it everytime. I would pass, but not for any other reason than my own selfimposed standard. I would never fault anyone that decided to take it.

I would not kill that buck this year, but in 2 years he's going to be a very mature deer in 3 years he will be a brute. That's a very nice looking young buck, not to mention a very nice photo your scouting camera took. Very nice. Keep them coming! Harvest a doe for meat, save a young buck.

I would put a tag on that buck in a heartbeat. There's no difference between a small buck and a big buck except for size....why must we wait? The only reason to wait is so that he can grow, but that is if he lives and even then, why is there a notion out these days that hunters should only take mature bucks? Bull.

yea,and it's a shame too cause he needs at least one more season. but around here it seems if it's got horns at all it's going to get shot at come rifle season..

Well, it would be nice to live where I could let that deer walk. But, I don't. That is a very nice deer for Vermont ... I'd have to take a crack at him if he got within 30yds.

They have instituteda "no spikehorn" rule for this year, though, so it is a start to help grow some bigger bucks. We'll see if it actually works or not.

He's a great looking deer ,but I think I'd have to give him another season before taking him.

i would probably shoot him with a bow, but id have to let him walk in muzzleloader or rifle
