RE: What gear should I bring with me?

HNI Visitor, after 20 seasons under my belt and other than my bow, arrows and release, if I could only take one other piece of equipment with me to the treestand it would be a grunt call. I have shot many bucks with a bow and only 1 did I kill without a grunt call.

You can try curiosity scents, estrous scents, dominant buck scents and they will work when conditions are right but mostly you'll be waisting your money.....

Rattling antlers will also work in PA with marginal success, used softly and sparingly....

But a grunt tube will do more than scents and rattling. At least it has for me.

RE: What gear should I bring with me?

Lemme go through my fanny pack...

Trioxane (a firestarter)
Flint & Steel
Scent Wafers
Coon Pee
Rattling Bag
Grunt Tube
Face Mask
Gloves
Extra Release if you have one
Allen Wrench Set
Hot Hands
Good Knife

That's pretty much my fanny pack right there. I wrench in case my bow needs to be fixed in stand, the scents to help mask mine, the facemask and gloves to keep me hidden, the flint and steel and trioxane for survival reasons, and the Hot Hands because my hands usually seem to freeze when it's cold out. Good luck, hope I helped.
