Pick my broadhead.
I've narrowed it down as far as I can. I can't make up my mind. I've read all the reviews and seen all the pictures but I just can't make up my mind. The only thing I have made my mind up on is the fact that I will be shooting 100 grain heads again this year.
So I'm leaving the big decision up to you folks. I trust your judgement and whichever broadhead has the most votes by the time this thread dies will be the one I use this year. |
RE: Pick my broadhead.
I feel amy of the listed heads would do fine .
But for the last 15+ years I have shot the same Muzzy 4 blade heads and never had a bad result. I shoot the 115 gr head but I have tryed the 100 gr heads . I just can't find a reason to change what works . Johnch |
RE: Pick my broadhead.
I've been shooting the Muzzy 3 blade 100 gr., but just switched to the 4 blade 90 gr. Muzzy.
It performed very well for me,........passing through both gristle shields on my boar. Kev |
RE: Pick my broadhead.
it's a personal choice, one you should be mature enough to make on your own
|
RE: Pick my broadhead.
Buy a pack of each and switch them out every weekend. [8D]
Magnus Stinger, all the way. You will have to decide between the original or the Buzzcut. |

RE: Pick my broadhead.
I don't shoot them, but of the ones you've listed I'd go with the Muzzy 4 blade if it shoots as well or better than the 3 blade simply because it puts more blood on the ground. I shoot Thunderheads because they fly better than the Muzzys from My Bow with me shooting it.;)
|
RE: Pick my broadhead.
you cant go wrong with muzzy;););)
|
RE: Pick my broadhead.
I realize these are not on your list but the Crimson Talons are a real mean broadhead. These things fly like my fieldtips but I get better penetration than my Muzzy's. Of the choices you gave us I would have tosay Muzzy 3 blades........

RE: Pick my broadhead.
I DIDN'T SEE THE ONE PEICE MONTEC G5 ON THE LIST? WHY NOT?
|
RE: Pick my broadhead.
ORIGINAL: manboy I DIDN'T SEE THE ONE PEICE MONTEC G5 ON THE LIST? WHY NOT? I don't want to spend $60 on a half dozen heads. I almost listed them, but decided not to. |
RE: Pick my broadhead.
WHY IS IT YOU WOULD GO CHEAP ON THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR SET-UP? THE BROADHEAD DOES THE DAMAGE!;)

RE: Pick my broadhead.
I think you already know which one I like.;) First choice is the ST second choice is the stinger third choice wouldn't be a Muzzy.
|
RE: Pick my broadhead.
Let me echo mobowhuntr.... The 100gr Magnus Stingers in a 4-blade are absolutely AWESOME! :D[8D] They are by far the most evil, most nastiest, wickedly sharp, broadhead I have ever seen. You gotta try them out!

RE: Pick my broadhead.
I didn't know anyone still shot Muzzy's
|
RE: Pick my broadhead.
Muzzy? Whats this muzzy you speak of? All I know if is STINGER!

RE: Pick my broadhead.
What, no expandables? :) Ok, I will go with the next best thing...the Slick Tricks. ;)
|
RE: Pick my broadhead.
how long have you been bowhunting? stick with what works, be secure enough in the decision that you make is the right one for YOUR situation.
|
RE: Pick my broadhead.
Montec is a good flying tough broadhead. I heard the crimson broadheads are nice. I have used muzzy, and they have always been a good broadhead. I used thunderheads last year, and they were great on aluminum arrows, but couldnt get them to fly as good on carbon arrows.
|
RE: Pick my broadhead.
Just pick one, it ain't so much as to what kind it is, but where it is...
they all work about the same when the shot placement is good. If shot placement isn't so good none of them will work very good AGAIN SHOT PLACEMENT IS THE KEY |

ORIGINAL: hoyt3 how long have you been bowhunting? stick with what works, be secure enough in the decision that you make is the right one for YOUR situation. Just because something worked well for me doesn't mean that there isn't something out there that is going to work equally well out of my set up. I've got the money to be able to afford to try something new each season and that's what I plan on doing. I trust the opinions of my friends on this board which is why I'm letting them help me in making my decision. Please, don't post here again. |
RE: Pick my broadhead.
Out of all those I like the stingers the best. I am a cut on contact fan. Presently I am shooting the razorcaps and they are flying awesome. But they are also 29.99 for 3. Well worth the money if you ask me. But hey, what the heck, its only an opinion.

RE: Pick my broadhead.
What are Stingers, never heard of them? I thought there was only muzzy out there, Magnus right they still produce them? I thought they went out when Jimmy Carter left office. Just getting some folks back for disemboweling me on another thread. Magnus What?

RE: Pick my broadhead.
Take it for what it is worth, I just sighted my stinger 4 blades in today and I tell you what I did not have to touch my sights! I was so pleased on how they shot. I was hitting the circumference of a beer can at forty yards evrytime. I could not be more excited for the 20th of August, opening day! Good luck in picking a broadhead.
|
RE: Pick my broadhead.
40 yards, sounds like your ready to go, good luck and shoot straight. Let us know how you make out, Mathewsman.
|
RE: Pick my broadhead.
How about the Muzzy Phantom ? Thats what I am going to try this yr , my wife is going to test drive the stinger buzzcut
|
RE: Pick my broadhead.
BUZZCUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: Pick my broadhead.
Hoyt3, this is a informative forum where everyone can come and get advice not smart comments which are not appropriate. The guys just wants some others opinions on this. While it is the indiviuals choice on what he uses, he should not be objected to your uncalled for attitude and demeanor. We do this for fun too. If you can't help people why are you here?Don't burn any bridges, folk here don't forget to often. Plus one never knows the age of it's viewer's. Be helpful or Be gone!!!

RE: Pick my broadhead.
I went back to Muzzy 3 Blades last year after 3 years of shooting Wasp Jak-hammers and I'll never shoot anything else again.
