Practice correctly!
Have someone watch you shoot. They can point out things you do different from shot to shot. Have the bow set up to fit you properly. The peep should line up to you at full draw, you shouldn't have to change your form to fit it. Ensure that you have the correct draw length and don't shoot more draw weight than you can comfortably handle. Speed is cool, but not worth making your bow harder to shoot. Search the internet for proper form and grip. Or get an archery book like "idiot proof archery" or something simular. Or better yet take some lessons or get a coach! Check out this page, some of it might help. Shooting FITA by Matt Cleland Good luck, Paul |
RE: Tips to accurate shooting
Be smooth. Smooth draw, smooth release, smooth follow through. Practice and practice some more. Don't get discouraged. Don't overshoot. You can practice too much. If you continue to shoot after you are tired, bad habits can develope.

RE: Tips to accurate shooting
For starters, get the drawlength of the bow set properly. If that isn't right (and very few are--most are about 2" too long) then nothing else about the bow matters.

Cut out caffiene. It causes involuntary muscle movement. Though if you drink a bunch of cokes or coffee, you may shake a bit when you are comming off.

Relax, always realize that you have the ability to let down if the shot doesn't feel right. It is the quality of your practice session not the number of arrows you shoot that is the most meaningful.Have fun and also realize that anything worth while takes time, with patience and a relaxed attitude you'll have her licked in no time!

RE: Tips to accurate shooting
The biggest thing is to practice every day. Also, do not shoota bow where the poundage is too much for you to wear it is making you real shaky. Believe me you will lose some arrows.
