when you hold your with just your first finger and thumb and tuck the other fingers between your palm and the bow handle so you don't torque the bow and also have the correct draw lenght

Have fun, practice w another archer, preferably someone better (more experienced)than you. Be consistent with your draw, anchor, and release. And finally enjoy watching your groups shrink, and shrink, and shrink over the course of a few months, because they will.
Also, no matter how much it helps, or how wonderfully delicous and refreshing and delicous it is. Regardless of how it helps you steady your hand. Do not under any circumstances enjoy a crisp, clean, refreshing beer while shooting. That would be..... for after shooting!

RE: Tips to accurate shooting
Theres tons of good advice here, and form is something you need to learn so it comes naturally or subconsiously. To do that, you must learn without arrows.
My best advice is that most of your accuracy is mental.
You need to ingrain everything into your noggin, and never think about anything but the spot you are trying to hit.
Also, while others recommend lots of practice, I recommend something slightly different. Practice with a bow simulator, or blank bale with your eyes closed. You have to remove the whole aspect of worrying about where the arrow will hit. This will make you better by leaps and bounds. Thats not just a Target Panic cure, thats the perfect way to improve yourself.
You see when you practice on a target, worrying about where the arrow hits, we (as humans) have a tendency to change something if we dont hit right on. So do the majority of your "practice" off target without the burden of an arrow.
When you do actuallyshoot, keep the sessionsshot total down, fewershots actually taken is better. Something I like to go by is about 1 or 2shots forevery 3-5 minutes.
As you get better, stretch your distance that you shoot, and you will notice a dramatic increase in your abilities, confidence, and shorter distances like 30yds will become cake.
Good luck improving---Matt
