You might find a better used bow for 300 than a new one. JMO.

You should be able to get some good used ones for less than $300... I bought my Martin Cougar III of ebay for $250

Let him decide what his limit is after shooting some at different $ ranges. It may go up.:D

I like nodog's response. :) $300 isn't alot to spend these days if you are talking about a new bow and a full setup. Heck, the PSE Nova, bare bow, sells for around $200. Thrown in a decent site, rest, quiver, a dozen arrows and a release and you are already breaking that $300 mark. Something to think about.

If i read the original post right the $300 is for the bow only?
I'd also be giving the Reflexexcursion a long hard look.

Another vote for the Reflex Excursion. My buddy just bought one this week, and wow, does that thing shoot great!! Incredibly quiet and forgiving. He bought the entire set up, bow, sites, rest, quiver, arrows and release for right at $400. The bow retails for $279.

I have a Bear TRX (36" ATA version) and I really like mine... I got it for 350 last year, but Gander Mountain sells them for 299 this year.... It really is a nice bow, but I will admit I havent ever shot a bowtech/matthews/hoyt... But either way it definitly is nice
