RE: 2 pins enough?
2 pins is still one too many in my opinion ;)

RE: 2 pins enough?
I think so. Considering all the deer I've shot have been within 20 yards with a bow.

RE: 2 pins enough?
On a older bow....circa 1985 or so then you may have some problems gap shooting at 30 yrds considering the typical arrow speed back then and the subsequent gap between your 20 and 40 yard pins. I would think that you would be better off sighting in for 20 and 30 instead. As mentioned, most shots are under 30 yards anyways.

RE: 2 pins enough?
I only shoot one pin now due to the bows are so much faster now. I just aim alittle higher at 30 yards(1 ") or lower at 10 yards and right on at 20 yards. I have set up my bow to sort of idiot proof it and going to one pin has helped. Less complicated and has worked very well for me.

RE: 2 pins enough?
2 pins will be fine, but like others have mentioned, you might want to use different distances. I think you should try 15 yds (that will cover anything under it) and 25 yards. That way you can gap shoot 20 yds. and just aim high for 30. I wouldn't shoot past 30 anyways and with these two distances you are spliting it evenly.

RE: 2 pins enough?
I agree with the 15 and 25 yards which in most circumstances is plenty.I have only had one chance at a deer at 40 yards and I did not shoot. The day was cloudy and I had heavy tree cover.Try going into the woods and draw your bow back and look thru your peep you'll be amazed at the distance you can't see clearly as you can just normally practicing.

RE: 2 pins enough?
If you utilize a peep site and have trouble seeing in low light conditions - like me - anything more than 1 site makes it difficult to see the target because the pins take up most of the view.

RE: 2 pins enough?
One is enough. I only shoot out to 30 yards....and thats if its broadside, stopped and looking the other way. 40 yards in neveran automatic.......so don't take 'em.....way too many varables. For the most part, the only guys I know who shoot at 40 yardsor over 40are younger inexperianced hunters. Most veterans keep them close.
Good Luck! |
RE: 2 pins enough?
one pin is plenty , i shoot one pin and fingers it is as simple as it gets and no worries about forgetting or losing a release
