I've only started hog hunting recently and gotten 1-75 lb.boar and 1-185 lb. boar which I used the 100 gr.muzzy 3 blade.The smaller ran 30 yards and the big one dropped in his tracks.I would suggest trying a muzzy.

I agree completely with the penetration argument. You will without a doubt get better penetration with a Muzzy than a mechanical, but, and that's a big BUT, if hunting in thick cover and I mean thick palmettos that hogs love to run into, you have to have blood immedietly. An expandable like the game tracker 125 is ideal. It has a fixed blade up front with expandables in the back. That fat loves to seal up holes. The Montecs are a great fixed head and if I wasn't hunting in the area I'm in, I would be using them on Hogs. Here is a picture of the Game Tracker 125.
