RE: What all do you do?
Bowhunt
Rifle hunt Small game hunt Waterfowl hunt Freshwater fish Surf fish Hike Bike Birdwatch Camp ...in about that order except some I do in conjunction with others. I once did quite a bit of all that but since I have been married....4 blessed years...;).....I have had to tone it back a bit. In a few years my little guy will be big enough and we will be again spending more time in the woods and streams. :) |

RE: What all do you do?
1) Bowhunt whitetails (have no idea how much time I spend in a stand , wife says alot , I say not enough)
2) Bowhunt turkeys (maybe 4 weeks a year) 3) Camping with family (at least 4 trips a year) 4) Fishing - Salmon (<favorite) , walleyes , panfish , etc.(not nearly as much as I'd like) 5) Still waiting to draw my first bear tag 6) Gun hunting whitetails - traditional thing w/family (9 days a year) I used to do alot of small game hunting but there just aren't enough days in a week anymore. |
RE: What all do you do?
Last year I fished a total of 26 two day tournaments, with 3 days of practice before each. Not counting recreation/practice fishing (which I did parts of 4 to 5 days a week), and I was a busy man. Come hunting season, I bowhunted all but 4 days of the season (due to high winds). I didnt miss a day of rifle or muzzleloader, and hunted all but 1 day of late bow season, since I tagged out on the 2nd to last day.

RE: What all do you do?
When I was younger, I used to do almost all quail hunting and only shotgun hunt for deer (7 days total). But when quail populations went downhill about 4 years ago, I started doing more bowhunting. I still bowhunt quite a bit but lately I have been trying to get my dog out in the field more (for wild quail or on preserves) before I have to retire him. Last season might have been his last. Hopefully not, but at least the last hunt we had was one of the best ever with hime and the other dog!

RE: What all do you do?
I just post on HNI. I'm afraid to leave my house in case I might get lost, catch a cold or get eaten by a bear. You can never be too careful. I live through all you all'sposts. Thanks HNI!:)

RE: What all do you do?
1. bowhunt- spend the most time hunting with bow.
2. rifle hunt deer - could be one day or up to about 6 days ( season is 2.5 weeks long) 3. trapping - a week to a month... just depends on how much time I can get for it. 4. shed hunting - my son loves it and I get a kick out of it too. As soon as the bucks start dropping ( find sheds in December ) till springs work starts on the farm ( may ). We spenda lot of time doing this thenmostother activities. ![]() 5. scouting - as soon as I walk out the door in the morningtill I come home at night. There is always something to see or find. Shed hunting is a form of scouting for us. 6. This year we are going to do some goose and duck hunting. I haven't done that since high school ( 24 years ago ) but want my son to experience it. 7. fishing - a couple times a year. I keep thinking of all the other activities I love doing while waiting for a fish to bite and lose interest in it fast. If it weren't for the kids, I wouldn't bother. 8. Coyote calling/hunting - a couple days but we are getting more into it. Finding the time to do it is the biggest problem. 9 Gopher hunting - bows and .22... Try to make it to dad's at least once in the summer just for that. He has an old cow pasture that hasquite a few gophers. Really fun with bow as they are a small target and the shots are usually20 yards or more. ![]() Tim |
RE: What all do you do?
Lets see, archery hunting (deer/turkey/bear/rabbits/groundhogs). Rifle hunting (pretty much anything thats in season and I have a tag for). Fishing (bass, musky, pike, trout, crappie, bluegill, perch, walleye, catfish, carp)
Also, I do a good bit of camping, hiking, scouting, running game cameras, shed hunting, photography, ect.) |
