Fiber optic peeps - worth it?

I was looking at my Cabela's catalog and happened across the fiber optic peep sites. They claim to be better during low-light hunting situations.

Has anyone used the RedHawk Peep? It seems cool, but kinda heavy. (37 grains)

What about the Fine-Line Ultra-Glow Peep?

Finally, the Dusk Vision Hunting Peep?

The Tritium fiber optic is very good in low light conditions, always glowing. I think it is worth the money.

Ive been wanting to do away with my peep sight, because of the lighting I lose in low light conditions. I will give this fiber optic peea a try though.

The brighter your peep is, the harder it is to see what is beyond it. Does a flashlight shining in your eyes help you see in the dark? No. Only when the flashlight is lighting up your target does it help. Only reflected light off of your target is useful, and fiber optic peeps don't add light to your target. It is a gimmick, pure and simple. It isn't so much that it does not work, it can not work to help you see your target better- all it does is make the peep easier to see. But seeing the peep isn't the issue in low light- seeing the target is the problem.

The peep I use has a piece of fiber optic on the back side (away from my eye). It has 4 small dots on the viewable side located 90 deg. apart. It doesn't realy add any light but it does aid in lining up my pin (which is also fiber optic). It really helps me center my pin on every shot. I use it kinda like a crosshair on a rifle scope. Those 4 dots light up fairly well in low light.

Fiber Optic sites are definitely worthwhile. They really do add a lot of visibility to your peeps in low light. It is amazing how well they glow with the smallest of light.

However, just because you can see your peep well doesn't mean you have enough light to actively place that peep in the right spot on a dark-coated animal while peering through a small peep site!

I would recommend going to fiber optics, just realize they have limits.

I went with the NO-Peep because of the Low-Light Situations!
