Growth of a buck (pics)
Boy, I can't wait for the season to begin and get a chance at this guy. This is the first time I was able to follow a particular buck for a couple of months. And the first time I have this many pictures of a buck this big in my area. I hope they come out OK and this sight doesn't shut down like hunt101.
Enjoy. Well, they didn't come out in order but there are dates on them. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
RE: Growth of a buck (pics)
Very nice deer. Although corn isnt a great choice for the summer. Corn has too much starch for deer in summer. It can cause health problems in the deer herd. Throw out some apples or persimons. Or a mineral block.

RE: Growth of a buck (pics)
Nice setup there Bob. Hope you get a shot at him. I finally got around to setting up a trail cam myself. It works much better if you put film in first;):D

RE: Growth of a buck (pics)
Yeah, that film thingy is kinda useful.
The corn is in an old apple orchard and the mineral lick is at the front left of the camera. (you can't see it) I'll keep my eye out for changes in the deer. Thanks for the tip. |

RE: Growth of a buck (pics)
Cool looking pics, thanx for sharing:)------I sure hope you get a crack at one during season..
One question though-------I dont think the second and third pic are of the same deer.I see the second pic as a 8 pointer and the 3'rd as a 7 point.I cant make out another G point on the deers right main beam.If indeed they are different bucks then it looks like you have 2 decent bucks using the area-----Good Luck:) Sorry-----the last pic with the coons and deer look cool to. |
RE: Growth of a buck (pics)

RE: Growth of a buck (pics)
neat pics, thanks for sharing.

RE: Growth of a buck (pics)
I'm pretty sure he's the same deer. The left brow tine is higher than the other. He is forking off his left beam to make him a 9 point. I have another buck on film with a taller right brow tine. They started out the same size and visited the area together but the other buck hasn't come around in a while and the last I saw of him he wasn't even close to this one.
