What's your speed ratio
 

I was curious and bored. I know there are a million different factors that can go into what speed your bow shoots, but I was just wondering what % of the IBO speed(yes I read the other thread):)you are shooting? This doesn't have to turn into a speed debate, just curious to see what the practical percentages of the advertised speed are.
Mine is 88.3%

I am getting 94.4% of the advertised speed. Bowtech advertises this bow at 318-326fps IBO, so I averaged it for 322 (middle). I am also shooting 1" less draw length, and have a peep and string loop tied in. I am sure these string accessories and lack of that extra 1" of draw account for the lost speed and that I would probably pick it up pretty easily if I were to change these. My arrows are 2-4 grains over 5 gpp. It is quick enough now though, doesn't need to be any faster.

I don't see how you would know unless you were shooting the same set up they tested it with? This information isn't going to do you much good unless you know the draw length, draw weight and weight of arrow for each set up.

My percentage would be very low, but I shoot a fairly heavy arrow and only shoot 26 inches of draw at 53 lbs. I have ran my bow thru the chrono 3 or 4 times, each one would give you a different percentage because they were different set ups.

I will tell you that after you do the math for added arrow weight, draw length and weight it is very close to the upper end of the rated IBO speed (322 I think). I shoot a Bowtech Mighty Might. My percentages run from 60 to 80% depending on how my bow is set up and what arrow weight I use.

For my hunting bow and setup I am getting around 88% though as Paul stated that doesn't really verify anything in particular. I have a draw length over the IBO standard speed so it is easy for me to obtain that percentage without resulting to a light arrow or heavy draw weight.

I realize there is nothing scientific about this becuase of so many differences, I just thought it would be an interesting thing to post.

I'm around 79% with my ProTec. My differences from the so-called standard are: The bow is set at 60 pounds instead of 70. Arrow weight is 560 grains instead of 350. Draw length is 33.5" instead of 30". And I use a fingers release instead of a release aid.

Mine will shoot on the upper end of the advertised IBO range. I stripped the string once and shot it @ IBO specs and got 326fps.

I wonder what type of figures we could come up with if we compared our setups with the AMO standards for the bows. Granted, not many companies publish AMO speed ratings anymore but I am sure we could come up with something.
