Newbie here, shot some bows today, lotta fun!!

Hey guys,
Some of you helped me on my Bino search, thanks a lot. I ordered the Nikon Monarch 12x42's yesterday. I have always been interested in archery and recently my company merged with another and the owner of the new company is a big time bowhunter. He suggested I go to the local shop as some of you have suggested to other beginers. Wow! archery is a lot of fun! I shot 4 bows today Started with a high end Mathews then shot a low end used model I was looking at for 175.00, He wanted to show me the difference and there was a big one, my left hand vibrated like when you don't grip a baseball bat strong enough when I shot the used bow. He suggested for a real nice bow that would'nt break the bank a Diamond Rapture, I shot it and it is very nice, he's gonna set it up ready to go with a 3 pin sight, drop away rest, a release, and six arrows out the door after tax for 769.00. Man this is all I need, another hobby I can spend money on.

I don,t agree with the drug thing but you won,t be dissappointed with that Diamond bow. I have shot them and a few others for years and always seem to grab the diamond when heading out on a hunt.

That Diamond has a very good reputation and is basically Bowtech technology. Very good choice, you won't be in a hurry to upgrade. But be warned that this archery game is hard on bank accounts.

Metro,

Good choice in binoculars and good choice in bows (though I would have went no higher than 10x with the Monarchs if I were you...;) ).

As for the Rapture...excellent little bow and as someone stated it basically is a lower price Bowtech model so you know you are getting quality and excellent customer service.

One question though, the price you quoted for the total package plus tax.....$769.....seems a bit high to me. The Rapture, bare bow, usually sells for around $370 if memory serves me. Did you buy a high end 3 pin sight, drop away rest and a half dozen Easton ACCs to go with it? It just seems like a huge price difference. However, considering the amount you probably saved on the Monarchs I am sure you had a little extra to throw around.

Good luck and let us know how you do with both.

His bow price is 399.00 which is what I would pay for going to a shop and getting the customer service ie.. fitting, tunning etc... I shopped on the net and the lowest price was 369.00 so I'd gladly pay an extra 30 bucks for hands on proffessional service for life. I would also get a release as well as the pin sight, arrowsand drop away and yes I guess everything he is outfitting it with is top of the line. He said I would be getting a 50 dollar discount off all the accessories with the kit price. And yes he also said I should have gone with the 10X's, Ill check them out and maybe exchange them.

Splint, do you know anyone or have you bought a bow from these guys? Was it really dialed in when you got it?
