Horizontial VS. Vertical sight pins
 

What's the differnce? Or is it just prefrence. I think I would like the vertical the best.

If you have more then one vertical pin, there's always another pin of a different height in your way, either ahead of, or behind, the one you are using.

I shoot a lot of 3D with horizontal pin sights and "Gap" pins on odd yardages......shooting the air or space between the pins is quite accurate.

I liked the idea of less target coverage overall soa couple of years ago I tried a Trophy Ridge Matrix and simply HATED it. I just could not get used to not seeing between those pins.
I do like a single vertical pin that you would find in a moveable slider style sight, but the vertical stack of pins drove me nuts.

Some people like them a lot, but others like me are just the opposite.
This is one that it will definitely pay to ask a shop if you can try both styles out side by side to see what your preference is.

I agree too... It's all a matter of preference. Some like them, others don't. I guess that's whya bow isso easy to customize,and make it have it's own unique "personality".

I know for a fact, I could not get used to a vertical sight pin. It would really mess with me... Like Matt/PA talked about with horizontal pins and "gaps" for odd yardages, that isthe best approach, IMHO.

I have your every day, common, Tru-Glo 3 pin sights. They are setup at 20, 30, and 40 yards. Nothing fancy, nothing special... But I know 25 yards is right inbetween the 20 & 30 pins. Same with 35 yards - right inbetween 30 & 40. And I can see the target clear as day too with nothing in the way of it.

Same here and would agree that it is a matter of preference. As in Matt's case I tried the multiple vertical pin sights for a time but found I shot better with the horizontal pins for the above reason.

I thought since using a vertical pendulum I'd like verticle multiple pins, but give me horizontal pins any day.

I guess I'm the minority here. I prefer the vertical pin sights. Never had a problem with picking the right pin or guesstimating in between yardages. The thing that I feel makes the most difference with the vertical pins is how bright they are. If they don't glow brightly, it's hard to see them because they turn into a black line. I started using a light for the pins during the day also and that helped out a lot. Currently I am using a single pin on a slider. It is also vertical and I love it so far. I have nothing bad to say about horizontal pins and I used them for years. Just a matter of preference. Try them both and decide for yourself.

like everyone else said it's a preference thing, I switched over to a vertical sight before last year's season and I really like it.

My personal opinion is that if you shoot long distances, 30+ yards, then vertical is better. I have the trophy ridge micro matrix and love it. The carpenters level at the bottom helps out alot so you dont torque the crap out of your bow... just my opinion
