My homemade feeder...........for less than $5

Well after having a family of coons raid my trough style corn feeder for the last 2 weeks and after paying for over 50lbs of corn for them to eat, I decided this weekend to come up with something new. I basically copied the design of this feeder that I found on the following thread.

http://forum.hunting.net/asppg/tm.as...el&#891373

Basically I took an old oak handle from a shovel that was 1" in diameter, cut off an 18" section, and then pounded 2 screws on opposite sides about 4" down from one end. Then I cut a 1 1/2" hole in the center of the bottom in the bucket, and then hung it. It works perfectly. I should have pics soon, as it is in front of the leaf river. I also put vanilla extract all over the end of the stick, hopefully to teach the deer to nudge it to get corn.

Also, I will have pics tomorrow to post of not only this feeder setup, but also of the 2 1/2 year non typical that has been visiting out feeder site for the last week. He has the most bizarre antler on his left side, it drops strait down over his left eye with a weird little point facing backwards, and then ending up going into a softball sized ball on the end of the antler just below his jaw. His other side is typical and has 3 points on it. He is certainly not a big buck, but very interesting looking to say the least. Hopefully I have pics of him and my new feeder for you guys tomorrow.

Thats all I use to use A free bucket. A couple of years ago I would go thru 1200 lbs a year in the offseason. Now I only have had 1 deer feeding this past winter. All the rest are laying on a pile rotting

Heres what I use that works fairly well take a 3'' PVC pipe about 4' long with a 90 at the bottom and a cap on the end fill it with whatever you want,I use corn ,it will hold almost a half a 50 lb. bag. You can tie it to a tree and as the deereat the corn comesout on the ground. Works pretty good for about $5 worth of PVC.
