sights...

once again i have a question about what good ole dad told me....this time he told me i wont use a peep site just the pins and i think a kisser.....will i be able to shoot good that way? im not going to be in competitons or anything that i need arrows going throw eachother...just good hunting accuracy...i thought he was full of it..but my friend has a old bow...doesnt fit us but we mess around once in a while with it...and the peep sight doesnt even seem like it does anything....i actually blocked it out almost...so i then thought maybe they arent needed...so do you think he knows his stuff or if hes crazy?lol...thanx

I use a kisser button just as accurately as a peep site. Also, peep sites can hinder vision during low light conditions.

Belle's right...

You don't need both but you should have one or the other just to give you another reference point for a good, solid, consistant anchor.

mauser06, I use just a kisser. No peep sight. You might try a No-Peep, it's a sighting device that helps develop a consistent anchor piont. I used one, and now don't need it. My groups are plenty tight. For spot shooting a peep would help pinpoint accuracy. I shoot 3D with no problems without a peep. Hunt as well, with no loss of light or worry about the peep rotating.

I agree with everybody here. You dont need both but at least one or the other. I shoot a kisser button and a peep sight. I would really like to do with out the peep sight, because of the lighting problems, but dont know how my groups will turn out without a peep.

I use both and dont loose any shooting time by going with a good fiber optic sight and shooting with both eyes open. Try it, it really works.

I shoot both a kisser and a peep. I also make sure my string is touching my nose. That gives me a triple backup anchor point. I use a pretty large hole in my peep, so low light conditions don't affect me as much. It's all about what you need to be consistent, each person is different.

Some things are true whether you believe them or not.
