RE: Going to my first 3D shoot this weekend...what to expect?

Well, I went out and shot the course, and I have to say that I had a really good time. The course I shot was 20 targets indoors up to 40 yards, and 20 outdoors out to 45 yards from the hunter/open stakes. Scoring was on a 10 point scale, and to my surprise when the score was tallied up I had shot 294. Not bad for my first time out. I think that I'm going to go to another 3D shoot next weekend. I enjoy being able to shoot at realistic targets from various angles, and it's really made me appreciate the effect of range and wind on arrow flight.

driftrider, you will have a great time. Two tips: pick a spot on the target and shoot at yardages you are comfortable with. If you're unsure of the yardage, move to a marker that is in your comfort zone. Nothing macho about busting up your new equipment.
Have fun...;)

Expect to have fun. Don't shoot any of the participants and you'll be fine.
