Feathers

Pros-Feathers are better for correcting themselves if you hit a branch. They are also lighter. Theyare still accuratewhen damaged.

Cons- Feathers are not as accurate when wet. They are usually more expensive.

Vanes

Pros- They are heavier, which adds weight to your arrow. They are still accurate when they are wet. They are usually cheaper.

Cons- They do not correct themselves as fast when they hit a branch.

I shoot with a quiver on...therefore i like vanes cause they are quieter when moving around

I shoot vanes. There cheaper. Dont have to worry about them getting wet. They are alot quieter than feathers. I think feathers look better, but when I draw back on a deer thats the last thing on my mind.

Vanes here too. They are easier to apply initially and provide better durability, in my opinion, in a variety of hunting situations.

1 vote here for BLAZERS

Used feathers all my hunting life , but tried these little BlaZers last year at seasons end and I am going to use them this entire season , just like the thought of not having to worry about water hurting them .And the look awsome .

I prefer feathers just because they are more forgiving and lighter. Feathers can take quite a beating and still function correctly. Heck you can lose half of one and they still fly right. If you nick a vane it can effect arrow flight.

Feathers are more expensive and make noise though. I also think vanes are easier to fletch. I will shoot either, but if I have my choice I like feathers.

Feathers all the way. Even over the "broadhead" vanes like quick spins and blazers.

Feathers are far more stable in flight.. accuracy
they retain their full shape while in flight where as vanes tend to flap around in flight... accuracy
they provide much better arrow control than a vane does because of all the little ridges that grab the air... accuracy
they are lighter and faster,
they are far more durable than vanes,
they straighten out a badly shot arrow far better and faster than vanes do... accuracy
they are far more forgiving - should they hit an obstical or your rest they do not disrupt the arrows flight nearly as bad... accuracy
feathers are virtually uneffected by extreme hot and cold temperatures where as plastic isn't... accuracy
they look soooooo much better than a plastic vane and isn't shis what we strive for while in the woods???????;)

The downsides are they cost more and you need to water proof them if you hunt in wet weather.

Vanes
Accurate enough to shoot good groups at distances much farther than I would shoot at an animal. The small increase you are said to gain in accuracy is negated by just becoming a better archer. Dont worry about an arrows ability to correct it's flight. If you dont have a clear shot....dont take one!!!
