Hi
Like you can see I’m from South Africa, witch means you don’t need to use a PH or a specific outfitter. By law all foreigners needs to be accompanied by a PH when hunting in SA.[X(]
We’ll be going to the most northerly part of SA – great old bush veldt country.
Local residents are able to book a hunt on a game farm and do your own thing. Mostly you are accompanied by a local tracker that have great knowledge of the local territory, but that depends on the owner, otherwise its up to you.
If all goes well I’ll be after warthog, impala, eland and kudu. At the moment I’m missing a decent warthog on my wall, so that’s first priority. In case you were wondering what a South African is doing on this site – I appreciate to be in company of any bowhunters/friends. So thanks to all, I hope everything goes according to plan though.

Wonder what the CSI / RW record requirements are for Tarzan’s and will a Bowtech be able to compete with his equipment?:D

Manage to bag a nice pig and then some..
No hides/blinds on arrival. Used own homemade blind, build from canvas that I camouflaged.
Shot 2 pigs using walk-and-stalk method.
One excellent impala, a gemsbok and the warthog I wanted, from my blind.
My father became ill and had to leave early – fortunately, not to serious in thee end – had to spent most of the trip on my own, that left me with little time for other stuff, therefore please excuse the photos, its quite bloody and the quality stinks.

those are some nice animals, man those hogs look like they could do some damage! Are big hogs like that tough to eat?

Thanks it was great fun, bit lonely at times. My father is OK and booked a new hunt for us starting the 23rd of July (can’t wait).
There is much nicer stuff toBBQ than warthog boars that size, young males and females taste a bit better. (The big one’s over 16”, SCI = 13”) Warthog meat taste nothing like feral hogs, wild boar or any other pig for that matter. I took all the warthog meat to a new butchery on the same property as our bow club.
When I finally received the processed meat, salami ext. and tasting it, I’m only sharing with my BEST buddies!!
