Hunting Trips
Heres a question. How many people have or even considered taking a hunting trip, and why?
I have never been on one, was wondering how popular they really are. |
RE: Hunting Trips
I've considered booking a Colorado Elk hunting trip mainly to experience that part of the country - the scenery, the weather, the people, and of course, the majestic elk.

RE: Hunting Trips
How was the price? Obviously some trips are going to be great deals, and great establishments. Are they usually a good deal for what you get?

RE: Hunting Trips
I trade hunts. Its a lot of fun to get to see different areas for free.

RE: Hunting Trips
Now lets see I moved from Australia to the USA and I hunt here so is that classed as a trip:)
But I have hunted in New Zealand and Africa they where trips great ones at that. Every time I go to the deer lease it could be classed as a trip cause it's over3 hours away;) This year we have a trip planned for Nebraska and Kansas. Chuck from ASAT has been bugging the crap out of me to join him in Colorado for a Elk hunt:) So yeah I take hunting trips and have met a lot of great guys n gals doing so. IMHO everyone should at least go on a hunting trip atleast once in their lives;) You just never know what life long friends you will make while enjoying yourself. |
RE: Hunting Trips
What are some good resources to find these trips?
|
RE: Hunting Trips
I have done caribou in Quebec 3 times, Pronghorn Antelope in Wyoming once and lord knows how many moose hunts which are what I would classify as a " trip" due to the distances travelled and logistics involved. Nothing like a hunting trip, you actually get 12 months of fun planning them so when you spread that cost out they're a bargain..

RE: Hunting Trips
I take at least 1 trip a year for moose ,it's a 12 hr drive and we take 2 week's for it .i also have a trip planned for bear this season with TerryM and I'll consider it a trip as well since we'll be gone for severel day's.
I agree with Ausie ,I've met manby good people on these trip's ,and I agree eceryone should take these trip's it's definately an experience to remember . nubo |
RE: Hunting Trips
i also take trips annually for hunting, sometimes more than one. i mainly do swap hunts too, which makes it affordable. cant wait for this fall, looking at alberta for elk and bear, south dakota for deer, minnesota for bear, and maybe vermont for moose if i draw.

RE: Hunting Trips
I am grateful that I am able to take a trip every year.I go to the same place,I have for the last 6 years.I go unguided and I hunt for 10 days.It is awesome, the hunting is great, the camraderie is as big a part of the trip as the hunting. The planning and the tweaking of the details all year long is great fun and makes the time go faster between trips.
There is nothing like it!! |
RE: Hunting Trips
I would love to take a trip out west for elk and muleys, but I can't afford it. I would only go backcountry 10-20 miles in on horse. The experience in itself would be immeasurable!
