Well...September 26th I had 2 bucks walk under me going into the alfalfa field. The first buck was a 2 1/2 8 pt...I drew on him anticipating him to turn, as I lined him up at 8 yards I heard another deer under me...the first buck acted nervous and started walking away. I made up my mind to shoot him because he was in velvet. He picked up the pace at thirty yards and I grunted to stop him...Then I heard a snort from under me and the first buck ran off and so did the deer under me, wich to my dismay was a 140 class 10 in velvet. 2 weeks later I arrowed this buck out of the same stand. Not nearly as big as the 10...

I am gonna cheat....this is not the biggest buck I've had in bowrange, but a couple of others just never presented the shot I wanted. And I will admit to missing one bigger as well.[&:] Sorry about the pic, it was taken several years ago and we never thought enough about taking better pictures back then.

I don't have a picture to post, but I took the first deer that presented me with a good shot. Normally I would have let this buck walk, but due to limited time(I had a newborn at home) I felt that he was the one for me. He had to walk by my tree about four times before I decided to shoot, but I'm really glad I did. He was a smaller public land six, but he tastes real good, and I never had another deer within bow range the rest of the season. I had two T-Zone(antlerless) tags to fill, hunted fairly hard second season, and came up empty handed.
