Idaho Elk, how dare you say my new bow is a pile!!![:@] No seriously, I hear ya, and I agree that the bow tech and Mathews shot better than any others, my Typhoon has too much vibration in the handle but for 400.00 I can live with it.I think your right, however, in that Mathews can sell the switchback for 750.00 because people will pay it. My feelings are that PSE probably spends no more money making tha Typhoon, then they do the Primos or other top line bows, yet they charge alot more for it. Did manage to get a few shots in tonight, and I'm pretty happy with my purchase. You also have to remember, that compared to my 1991 PSE Polaris, damn near anything I bought would feel prettygood.
To me, the switchback shot better than any other bow, the bowtech was really close, next was the Hoyt, and all the others were about the same.

The reason those bows are so expensive is because people will pay it. The manufacturers are only charging what the market will bear.
PS: I will never buy bows or electronics on Ebay. You just don't know what you're getting. It's real easy to mess up a bow and sell it on ebay or unload one that has never been "right". You don't think the Pro Shops sell all the bows that were dry fired at the shop to there customers do you? They don't want to service it later. Unload it on Ebay. Not saying you can't get a good one there, just too big chance your getting somebody elses headache.

I paid less than $400 for mine, including sights, a quiver, and a cheapo stabilizer, plus a few carbon arrows. It is a Bear Lights Out model, and I like it.
I too can't see spending more on a bow than a rifle. Maybe in a few years if I am rolling in money.

Only buy a new bow, when I really need a bow.
Set a budget, and stay with it. I find adequate bows that are not in the top ten.
With archery, I know my status. I enjoy archery, but I'm not a full timer with archery, don't participate in 3D tournaments, and never needed the latest and the greatest.
Never buy on credit with a credit card. Only pay cash. It's amazing what you only really need, and really need to spend, when the cash gets taken out of the wallet.
With my buying system, when I bought I was 200 % sure. It's amazing how long you keep products using this system. I value what I paid and I keep the product in shape.
And I can well remember the moths flying out of the wallet, on my "big" purchases.

in 2007 i got my Hoyt Vetrix for 650.00 but after i added all the extras it was about a grand... still have it and don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon.
if you make sure you get one that fits you perfectly you will keep it longer. I know its a lot of money but buy a bow and keep it 10 years. By then they will have something worth upgrading to.
