I like his show. I think if anyone of us was on a show somebody would have something they didn't like or approve of. Thats just what makes everybody different. He's out promoting the sport we all love, who am I to complain about how he's doing it as long as it's in a positive light.

I guess I'll throw in my .02. As everyone has already mentioned, I think he is an arrogant a$$. His way, the hard way, the Tred Barta way. What a load of crap! Most hunters do it "the hard way" by scouting, practicing and then packing all our gear in the woods when most sane people are still sleeping. I have seen about 5 of his shows cuz I figured I would keep giving him a chance to redeem himself but he hasn't. I also saw the episode with the wounded doe. [:'(] Saw an episode were he said he was the best Tuna fisherman on the water yet he owns around a 22 footer and doesn't have any sponsors. Hmmm. The only show I watched that was half descent was one were his son went after an Elk cow. It didn't make sense though because he called it bowhunting Elk with a rifle. I guess he meant that they were trying to stalk in close but it still sounded stupid. The worse thing about him is that his son is going to be an arrogant a$$ just like him. You can see it in his attitude already.

I have seen a few of his shows, and some I can say I enjoyed while others left me not very impressed.

One show I saw actually impressed me. It was one where he went on an elk hunt with his son. The hunt was guided and he did is whole "The Barta Way" thing with his son early in the show about being able to shoot off handed at a target from field like positions. They then filmed a 1/2 hour show with 2 days of hunting with a few close encounters with elk and some supposed bear growling at them. Near the end, the elk showed up behind them and the kid made a shot on a nice cow elk at 50 yards or something like that. They did all of the hero shots and high fives, and even showed some of the caping and quartering. If you don't like Tred, you had plenty of material to mock him on with that show. What I took away was a hunting show that had a father and son hunting, with only 1 trophy harvested, a cow elk. Showed a good bit of the "hunting part" with miles of walking and ending a day in the woods without a shot and even gave a glimpse into the tough part of getting the meat off the mountain. The guy gets on my nerves a bit, but I guess I'm burnt on watching monster penned raised deer and elk getting blown away from insulated shooting houses. I like the change of pace. I'd love to see the format he uses with more likable hunters.

This guy is a total loser! I saw part of the show were he was shooting at geese with a recurve. I only watched enough to get sick about his apparent lack of ethics and intelligence. I was just waiting for him clip one and wound it. You guys talking about the show that he was missing and eventually wounded the deer sounds exactly likethat load of crap that I saw. It seems like OLN is trying to have this jack-a onand be so off the wall toget ratings. The title of his show says it all. Actually I thinka good name for his show would be "The Worse and Worst of Tred Barta". Not trying to start crap but the guys who really like him are probably a lot like him. People like that really get under my skin. His ethics area joke. This guy should not be allowed tohave a show. It just gives all hunters a bad image to the average non hunting public. I work in a very public job and it is amazing to me how even in rural texas how many non-hunters think hunting is mean or sick or just stupid. He nor OLN (by allowing him to)doesany of usfavors by coming off so brash and arrogant.

The only episode I saw was the one when he shot at the geese. There was one part where the guy with the shotgun shot right after Terd, I mean Tred shot. Tred says, "I got an arrow in him!". That right there tells us he only wounded the goose. I thought the goose he shot at dropped right there. If it did why would he go looking for his arrow to see if he hit it. Did the goose drop right there?
