Going to Florida

We are heading to Fl in three weeks to stay at Southern Arrowhead. We are planning on pulling into NW Florida 2 days early and stay at Panama Beach. Any one know of any bow ranges/shops in that are we should hit. Or for that matter any pubs or attractions? Its a long way from Maine so we are looking for some serious R&R.

850-519-1389 Give this guy a call and go fishing. He is over there close to Panama. He has got all the # to the best offshore fishing spots over there. He will trade you a fishing trip for a hunting trip or maybe other stuff.

There is a bass pro shops in Destin. And don't worry too much about the rain. It gets them pigs up and rootin! I shot one in the outer bands of Hurricane Ivan last year! Good luck and post some pics!

I just got back from FL but I didn't see any proshops.

For you Fl guys, How in the world do you bow hunt your state? The woods seemed to be an impenetrable tangle and considering you have poisinous snakes I would be a little leary to crawl through the brush.

I know it sounds funny, but I've hunted from the northeast to the rockiesand creeping through a blackwater swamp under a jungle canopy while listening to one of the most alive places on earth is still my favorite way to hunt. Florida has some much game to offer that you can literally hunt all year long. We hunt turkeys, hogs, deer, coyote, bobcats and so on, all in one hunting season. That doesn't include gators in the summer, turkeys in the spring and hogs and coyotes all year long. Slipping my Jon boat down a blackwater creek before sun up gets my blood pumpin!! It takes a little gettin use to and some equiptment changes due to the environment, but once it grabs you, you're hooked!

I agree with bigboar. We have a little of evrything down here. I have found treestand hunting to be difficult unless you use a ladder stand (trees down here are hard to climb sometimes) but trees put you over the palmetos. I found cabbage palms to be about the best to climb! You get used to looking for snakes. And when you can't hunt the fishing is phenominal from backwater snook and reds, to offshore dolphin, canal talapia bowfishing, and some of the best freshwater bass fishing in the world. The only downfall to FL is it is rare to find a trophy buck! And yes the rain does kick the hogs up but sometimes when the rain sets in it rains hard, then gets scalding hot when it quits!

Just like Ijimmy said it is raining every day, forget the skeeter repellant and bring that therma cell, bug suit, and like weight breatheable clothing. its running around 90 degrees with 100 percent humidity. bring a camo handkerchief with you will need it to keep the sweat off your face.
