Last weekend we hosted a Kicking Bear Archery Shoot and Campout for kids in Fisher Illinois just North West of Champaign-Urbana Illinois, we had 85 kids attend with over 49 adults whom volunteer to mentor the kids and help them shoot. We had Football Games , Hayrack Rides, the IDNR brought out their education trailor with Conservation Police Officer, we had a big Bonfire and Marshmellow Fight, Campfire Ghost Stories followed by a nightime hike in the woods, we cooked a whole pig, had BB Gun Shooting, Slingshot Shooting, Archery Practice Shooting and a 3D Archery course for the kids to shoot. We even had 2 Olympic Gold Medalist at the camp and for archery = Rod White Archery Olympic Gold Medalist 1996 at the camp volunteering to help the kids as well as PSE Pro Staff and Kicking Bear founder Ray Howell, PSE Pro Staff Francis Armenta and Doug Beshese from Bowhuntingstuff.com just to name a few of the great people that were here for the kids

That's awesome. Last weekend Christine (AmanitaVerna) and myself were in Michigan at a similar shoot hosted by Benefit 4 Kids. I'll post some pictures later on today.
No matter who hosts or sponsors these events it's great to see people donating their time, money, and energy to promote our sport to kids. Some of my fondest memories when I was younger were being out on the practice range with my dad, learning to shoot my fiberglass Bear longbow.
