2005 bows- anybody tried these?
considering a number of new bows: switchback, bowtech constitution, hoyt pro tec, reflex superslam, pse vengeance. i've got a buddy who kills lots of big bucks and shoots a renegade. he's getting an alpha 1. never liked those bows myself.
anybody shot any of these? love or hate any? and why? newbie to this forum. what's with all the cutesy face dohickeys available when you post? |

Hardhead: Welcome to the PARTY. I personally haven't shot amy of these but from what I've heard you couldn't go wrong with any of them. Are you just new here or are you new to archery also?

I shoot a Bowtech Constitution and love it (40 inch ata) ....If you don't mind 40 inch hunting bows this one does not disappoint. 27.5 inch Maxima 350 ...370 gr. arrow....61 lb. pull....261 fps.....Very forgiving and fast......

The switchback, bowtech constitution, hoyt pro tec are the best 3. They all have features whihc I like & some I don't like. The Hoyt is a very nice shooting bow but I am not crazy about the TEC riser design because the brace along the grip bugs me, the switchback is nice shooting & well built as well, I am not a fan of the string dampers personally or the roller guard, and the consitution is well built bow that shoot nice as well the only down fall is I like the feel of a single cam better. Out of the PSE's I think the AR line is their best bows. As you can see every bow will have pluses & minuses. You just have to shoot them & see what you like the best.

very thoughtful reply, orion, thank you. what is it you particularly don't like about switchback string dampeners?
i liked the hoyt as well. but, again, i don't completely understand the point you were making about not liking TEC design. when you say the brace is along the grip, what do you mean? i thought the bowtech would be more shootable than i found it, between the long axle length and high brace. it shot well, but not noticeably smoother or more accurately in my hands than the others. thanks again for your reply |
RE: 2005 bows- anybody tried these?
I have had the privelege of shooting the Constitution on several occasions. It is a quiet, forgiving bow that offers relatively good speed despite its length/brace height. I think it an excellent choice for those looking for a forgiving release or finger shooter bow.

I loved the switchback enough to buy it!
Quietest and smoothest bow I've ever shot! I almost feel guilty at times because I don't shoot it nearly as much as I should! J |
