I went and did it. Bought a Bowtech!
I have been shooting my Buckmaster G2 for three years and got plenty of deer with it. Always saw the posts on here about how great Bowtech was so I finally started looking at them online. Called up Macrotech and asked Len if I could shoot the Defender VFT and the Allegiance VFT. Brought my bow, shot all three and decided on the Defender. Odd thing was there was only a 1-2 fps difference between my Defender and the Allegiance (Long story about my bow having different limb pockets than the newer Defenders) and I'm used to a short bow.
I also found out that my draw length should be 28". Been shooting 29" for years. So I'm thinking that my speed is gonna be slower. :( Not true my brothas and sistas, bow is set at 67# draw weight, 28" draw length and shooting 28" CX Hunter 200's weighing 392 grains. I think let-off is somewhere around 73%. My arrow speed is 286 fps with 71 foot/pounds of KE. Don't ask me how this bow is shooting this fast but Len can verify it. Anyway, I guess I'm a Bowtech fan now. :D I will post a pic of it later. My thanks to Len and Tony at Macrotech for taking care of me. Does this mean I have to change my login name now? ![]() |

Congrats on what I think is a sleeper in the 05 lineup.
Looks like an awesome treestand/groundblind bow to me! Enjoy. |
RE: I went and did it. Bought a Bowtech!
I have a NAP Quick tune 4000 that I sent back to them to fix for the wider Bowtech riser. It didn't have enough left-right adjustment. I also bought a HHA Optimizer-Lite and used my TruGlo Nullifier Pro Stabilizer to add some weight to the front of the bow. The bow was tilting back after the shot otherwise I wouldn't use a stabilizer. Isn't that crazy, I'm so used to bows jumping forward and this thing just sits there and tlits back towards me.
Thats about it. I'm shooting the Carbon Express CX Hunter 200's now but I'm going to try the CX 200's. They should weigh in around 352 grains so I might pickup a little fps. For those of you saying the 200's are too weak, we tried the 300's and at 74# they were still a tad too stiff at 28" long. I'm going to try both 200's to see what kind of trajectory I am getting. If the CX Hunter 200's work as good as the CX 200's, I will stay with them for the added weight. I will keep you guys posted. |

Just think of all the tinkering you're going to get to do. I envy the tinkering.
