Fuzzy Sights
My pins are very fuzzy when I come to full draw if I focus on the target. They clear up when I focus on the pins but then the target is fuzzy. My eyes are fine and I've tried different peep sizes but nothing seems to help. I am having real trouble getting the pins to the same spot on my target each time due to the fuzziness of my pins.
Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to alleviate my problem? |
RE: Fuzzy Sights
UMPIRE, what you have metioned is normal when using pins or non-magnified scope. Your eye can only focus on one point or object at a time. That point should be the target or point of impact. One thing that will help, but not eliminate the problem is a peep with replaceable peep aperture sizes. I like the Specialty Archery Products Super Peep. Again, this will not eliminate blurring completely, but will reduce the amount of blur. When using a magnified scope, a clarifier will increase the clarity and reduce blur. A clarifier is a magnification in the peep lens to help compensate for blur.

I find that lack of light will make my sites go blury such as when I shoot inside. I have ordered an after burner light for my deadnuts and hopefully this will help. I will let you know.

RE: Fuzzy Sights
What Sniper is talking about is a Specialty Super Peep with a Verifier lens. There is also a lens called a Clarifier, but this is for use with scopes. Your local shop may have these so you can try them. There are four different diopters so try them.
When you say your eyes are fine does that mean you can see well ata distance but have trouble close up? Like maybe you're at the point of using bifocals? This is where the Verifier lens works wonders. And also as Sniper siad, it's pyhsically impossible for the eys to focus on two points at the same time that are not located the same distance from the eyes. One or the other has to be blurry. |
RE: Fuzzy Sights
Hey, Thats just the normal way you see things. You CAN"T focus on two things at once. I just went to the eye doctors two three weeks ago and asked him about that stuff. He told me that is the normal way your eyes see things. I told him I see two pin sights or two targets, depending on which one i focus on and how far away it is. He said this is completley normal.
So.. If you find a fix for it. LET ME KNOW.. Mathewsboy.. |
