Dang I am shooting good!
I admit I have not had much time to practice at all with my new Switchback but WOW with the little bit that I am shooting. Only about 5 or so minutes a day its sure shooting good. I have got some of the best groups of my life even up to 40 yards. I guess that what happens when I go from a 1997 Martin Fury to this new bow. Not saying the Fury is a bad bow, but it was and is a speed bow with a 5" brace height, not very forgiving. It took a lot of time (like a hour or more each day) just to keep it and me shooting good. For those of you who think that your older bows are just as good as the new ones. Well don't shoot a top of the line 05 bow from any brand, because you'll just have to own one!;)

RE: Dang I am shooting good!
im shooting better than ever before myself, had bad target panic, and went from fingers to a release. worlds of difference, it cured my target panic. i will probably go back to fingers someday when im comfortable, actually i will probably go traditional, i love shooting recurves, but my little tp problem was even worse with the traditional gear for some reason.
now im shooting a pse carrera with a release, and im shooting it well. that being said, although the new bows are awesome, a lot of those mid to late 90's were plenty accurate in their own right. i myself dont really see that much difference in the new ones. seems to me that in the late 90's technology was at least similar to what we have now, minus maybe the parallel limbs. i dont know, but i do think that the early mathews, some of the hoyts, pse's, high countrys, and such were just as accurate back then, from what ive seen tournaments scores back that up....at least around here. just my thoughts, some of those bows back then were the heat... |
RE: Dang I am shooting good!
I believe in that also. The newer bows just plain shoot better!

RE: Dang I am shooting good!
i have never shot the martin fury, so..........
i think the 90s bows i shot that were pretty good were hoyts, mathews, and pses. ive never been a huge mathews fan because i believe there overpriced, but the one i shot was in 98, was new, and was longer axle to axle for finger shooters.....seemed pretty nice to me. hoyts have made a lot of good bows that still seem fresh when compared. i know back then browning was a top dog, but there top bows from that period dont hold a candle to anything new today. but there were some that were pretty good. |

ORIGINAL: datamax gotta love modern technology ;) I just got done showing the kids some shooting tricks sense the rig is done, Shot a group of arrows at a small orange @ 25yrds. Drilled it every time. Capped it off with shooting the rope that held the orange up. Nothing like being a super hero. 2 of them grabed theirs to give it a try. Can't wait for them to get big enough. Thought about sharing this but thought better of starting it myself and then I saw this topic... |
