Backyard Bucks 05

Some of you may remember my postings from last fall of the nice looking 8 & 10 points that appeared in my backyard. So far this year, I have captured 2 bucks on video. While neither of them look to have the potential of my 2 from last year, they still have their own unique pictures.

Buck #1 was filmed him the first week of May. Notice his back leg in the third picture. Hoping for a nice non-typical down the road...

Buck #2 was filmed on May 23rd. Looks to be a first year buck but I thought this picture sequence was really cool. The blackbirds rule this tree line and chase most of the deer and turkeys that walk thru.

Enjoy

MasterBlaster,

I live in a town just north of Pittsburgh. My house sits in your everyday neighbor hood. I just happen to be really lucky and my yard borders an old farm. The grass you see is the field behind my house and then an area in the back corner of my property that I leave grow up to attract the wildlife. It's a nice natural funnel for the deer to travel between bedding and feeding.

I shot a buck 2 years ago on my friend's property that we had named Gimpy. His right front hoof had been broken and mended at a weird angle. He grew into a decent 8 pointer his fourth year so buck #1 will probably be fine. Gimpy had no problems running on three legs.
