RE: Do I have to throw the blades away afterwards?

Welcome aboard! If I were you, I'd dedicate 3 broadheads to practice with if you are gointg to use them on a regular basis. The blades will definitely start to dull even after one shot into the hay, let alone numerous shots. Consider them your practice broadheads. Then, before you go out to hunt, take one shot with the actual (new) broadhead and shaft that you'll be using to ensure accuracy, and make sure to sharpen it on on a sharpening stone before taking it out in the field. Best of luck.
P.S.: You may want to try Muzzy 4blade broadheads <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> ....they have practice blades that fly as true as the broadheads <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I wouldnt throw them away but keep them for practice. Its a good idea to replace the blade if your going to hunt with them. If your able to resharpen the blades then you can maybe use them for hunting. If my blades wont shave hair off my arms then they are not good enough for me to hunt with. IF you take a dull broadhead and push it through a stretched out strand of rubber bands what happens? Nothing, but if you take a razor sharp broadhead and push it through the stretched out strand of rubber bands what happens. You slice the rubber bands. If Iam hunting I will only use razor sharp boadheads.

I would agree with Mathews. Keep those dull blades for practice. When you go hunting put some new ones on.
