RE: DROP-AWAY RESTS.....WHICH ONE?

James,

Out of the ones that I have tried....Trap Door, Zero effect and Mirage...I have had the best luck with the Zero Effect. It is a little bigger in size than the others but well worth the price, in my opinion...which was around $90 when I picked mine up though I have heard of places that they sell for around $75.

RE: DROP-AWAY RESTS.....WHICH ONE?

I purchased a NAP Quicktune 4000 about 3weeks ago and absolutely love it. My groups have tightened up a bit, but more importantly I am getting more consistant shot placement. The micro adjustments helped greatly with set-up, which took about 1/2 hour and the sight is much quieter than my old Quicktune 1000. I think I paid about $70 for it at the local pro shop. The only issue that I had with it was I didn't feel comfortable with the way that it attached to the cable slide/ guard so I made a slight modification. The link below has some pictures of my bow and there are 1-2 pics of the rest w/modification. I hope this helps you.

P.S.: It's a free sight where I've posted the pics - ignore the prompts to buy copies of the photos.

I use the Golden Key Premier Drop away. I chose this one because I like the way the prongs will lock in the up position. With a lot of drop aways, the rest or prongs raise with the arrow. But not with this one. Once you are at full draw, the prongs unlock automatically.

Did my groups get better, - hard to say. I was able though to go from a three fletched offset arrow, to a four fletched full helical, which helped stabilize my broadheads.

The rest definitely quieted down the bow though.

James, I've used the NAP 2000 & 4000. I like the 4000 better, because of the micro-adjustments. My groups did improve. It's an easy rest to install & set up. Not real heavy either.

Phil.

My buddy shoots a trophey taker and loves it. I think I am going to change post season, but I think that I am going to try a Mirage.

The Golden Key Mirage to me was the best design & finally what I went with. It is a very good rest for the bowhunter and I like it's design better than the others. c

RE: DROP-AWAY RESTS.....WHICH ONE?

Shot the MZE and it is easy to put on and does what they say, butI just took it off and threw it in the box.Their is things I do not like about it, 1.had to shim quiver to use with it,2.too many moving parts. thought about Trophy Taker. I think the MZE is probably the best out their. With the overdraw attachment on it makes it more durable than most if you were to hit it. 3.The arm snags on stuff when walkimg through the woods. Looking to get rid of it.
