The Active Ingredient in this is TRICLOSAN.
I was reading the ingredients on my fiance's Body gel the other day.. ACTIVE INGREDIENT. TRICLOSAN.. So why not just buy that stuff.. Apple scented, or Unscented.. WHOLE LOT CHEAPER.. Can Someone Argue the Point? |

pay more attention to wind, less on hygiene and you'll kill more deer IMO They will smell you regardless Use a good cover sent for your clothes but as far as your body, I have been taking normal showers before each hunt like allways. All I do is use unsented soap, thats it. The way I look at it a deer will smell you regardless. They will either smell a good smelling human or a bad smelling human. I know alot of hunters that refuse to shower before they hunt , afraid the deer will smell them....makes no sense to me. (pun intended)Watch the wind....and for God sakes shower!:D |

For the past few years, I've used non scented soap in the mornings and I keep my camo's in a rubbermaid container with a few acorn scented wafers. I've had no problems with deer bustin' me (knock on wood). As long as you're careful with wind and how you walk into your stand then you should be just fine!

I can say I have a pretty strict scent control routine. I can also say I was only winded once that I know of in the past two seasons combined.
I know what works for me and encourage you guys to do what works for you:eek: I would suggest not using your fiances "body gel". Besides it can't cost much less if any less than the hunters specialty soaps. |

The Indians, although many of the things they did have a mystical appearance where very practical. You wouldn't go to a doctor who didn't wash, would you. The Indians washed a lot. Before anything important was done they would wash in a cold stream. So, before they hunted they washed in the steam and at the same time it was a cover scent.
Before you desire to follow the Indian way though, Lewis and Clark found tribes of starving Indians. :D Still it is a good approach to keep in mind. Your very cleaver, Gibblet. Is your concoction based on something? |

Unscented Ivory hand soap, body, hair, everything.
Sometimes I'll use car wash soap to wash clothes in. No UV brighteners and no perfumes and they don't charge you extra to leave them out. |
