Wheres your trigger release?
 

Just wandering if anybody has ever climbed their treestand and forgot their trigger release or misplaced it and maybe lost it. I climbed in my stand twice now and couldnt find my trigger release. I new that without my trigger release I could not make an accurate shot, so my hunting was done. I have a cobra release that just velcros on your wrist. I always put it on, when entering the woods, except for the two times I totally forgot about it because I was to excited to get in my stand. When climbing my stand I just strap it to my bow. I was just wandering what does everybody do with their release when entering woods and climbing their stands, and if you every misplaced it. It sounds like a great idea to own 2 of the same releases.

I carry that and any other essentials in a fanny pack. If I enter the woods with anything, it must be my bow and fanny pack. You can never forget it then. From pack to wrist and back, no where else.

I keep my release attached to the front of my safety-harness. wWen I'm set up in the tree, my release is the last thing to go on as part of my "mental checklist"

If you ever begin traveling to foreign destinations to bow hunt, one of the first things you learn (hopefully not the hard way) is to have two of just about everything. Even two bows, in 2 different cases, if you can afford it. Two releases. Two stabilizers. Extra nocks, LOTS of arrows, far more broadheads than you will ever need...or should ever need. As many items interchangeable as possible. Extra Veins, some fletch-tite, string wax, and the list goes on and on.

Always take TWO! Chances are in the foreign destination you can't find a release if you happen to lose one or if breaks or whatever. You don't want your only bow to break on the first day of hunting and not be able to fix it or rely on your back-up bow. You don't wanna run out of arrows. You don't wanna run out of broadheads.

Take two of everything you can possibly afford to take and can find room for. When traveling internationally, better safe than sorry!

Mine is strapped to my wrist as before I leave my parking spot.

Worse case scenario.....I have my old one in my pack.

Once I climb a tree, my release is in my back pack on morning hunts and on my wrist for evening hunts. I also carry a spare in my backpack.

I just have a question to those of you that wait until you are in the tree to put them on. I know mine has the velcro strap that makes way to much noise to wait until I am in the woods. How do you avoid the un-needed noises?

I put mine on the second I step out of the truck and it is the last thing I put back in the truck, then I clip it on my bow string.

IL-BOW-MAN thats a good question. How do you avoid the sound of velcro when putting your release on. I never could avoid it, I just try to be as quiet as possible. I was thinking about buying a release that just slips over your wrist, but dont like the feel of them, feels like they might fall of your wrist, or would be easier to lose. I just put up with the noise.

It happened a few times to me and I got down and walked back to the truck and got it, so I was alittle late but I still got to hunt now I carry an extra one in my pack.
