Default Golden Key Tranquilizer

Golden Key Tranquilizer Stabilizer 7-1/4" 5.5 oz.

Construction: Composite Material and Sims NavCom

Overview: I continually play around with new products from time to time and enjoy it. I get to see what works best and how they compare to other companies products. For the last 6 months I have been looking for a nice stabilizer for my Q2XL to hunt with. I have tried everything and up until this point my favorite models have been a 10 oz. X-Ring Sitka Flex and the Quiet-Tune stabilizers. Now I have found another stabilizer that works even better. The Tranquilizer balances my bow very good and unlike the Quiet-Tune system I only need to buy one product to get the full affect. The Tranquilizer also does a better job of removing shock than the X-Ring and isn't as heavy.

Rating system is like this 1 = poor, 10 = best.

Durability: 9 - So far no problem, nothing to freeze or leak and so it should work in any weather conditions. The Composite material appears to be very durable and seems like the right choice of material for this product.

Quality: 10 - I have never had any problems with Golden Keys products, as always they have great quality. The film dip was perfect and matched my bow flawlessly. Often film dipped products have some bad areas but not this one. I wish everyone else could do the same!

Price: 9 - The price is right in the neighbor hood of other good stabilizers. As always I wish all companies would drop their prices! ;-) Who doesn't right? I just need to get Mathews to agree with me also!

Warranty: 10 - A 100% lifetime limited warranty.

Shock Reduction: 10 - This stabilizer does a great job of reducing shock. It works every bit as good as any other higher priced stabilizer and outperforms almost all of them. It does a better job than what I was using on my bow which was a 6oz. Quiet-Tune in the front stabilizer bushing and a 4oz Quiet-Tune in the back riser bushing. The best part is it does it for less than half the costs and with less weight!

Total Score: 9.6

Final Comment: I really enjoyed shooting this stabilizer and have adopted it to my current hunting rig. It did a great job of reducing the shock out of my Q2XL. I now have a bow that has almost no hand shock which I really enjoy! I think a person would be hard pressed to find a better product on the market today that does as good of a job as the Tranquilizer.

I concur. I've bought and tested about 5 stabilizers recently and the GKF Tranqulizer was really awesome. Between the shorty and the long one I found the long one to be much more effective. When you add in the price this stabilizer it's really a great deal. Plus, its available in lots of camo patterns to match your bow.

I tried this out on my Mathews FX - bow it does a great job on it. I need to buy another one so I can put it on it. It really zapped the shock out of that little bow.

This is the stablizer that I use. I love it and it is one of the few that I have found that actually makes a noticable differance on any bow I put it on.

I have the tranquilizer as well and love it. One problemThe cap on the end blew off once as I shot the bow and little chunks of rubber flew out, as I looked down, the rest of the rubber chunks dumped out<img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle> Thank god I was in a garage and could easily scoop it all back up and reload it. I glued the heck out of the cap and haven't had a problem since. I would recommend everyone to put a bead of glue around the end cap seal.
