Trap Door

I am considering purchasing a Trap Door arrow rest and was wondering if anyone has had any experiences good or bad using this rest!!

Thanks for the help

This rest has one major flaw, it can trigger if you hit the front of the bow. If this happens kiss that big buck goodbye! Look into the mirage, a much better rest if you ask me.

stanley, I have been using the trap door for two years, and have not had any thing wrong with mine It is one of the best rest i have ever used,
I have killed deer with it and won bow shoots with it, but this is just what i think .
If you get one tell us what you think....

RE: Trap Door

The dealer I got it from warned me that "nobody likes them" meaning hunters. But I read someplace that the design had been improved and they seemed like a good idea. Maybe for some people with a lot of skill or experience it might be fine, but for me, I am too clumsy
to have it work well for hunting. Bang the bow accidently (and not too hard) and your rest drops.

I tried Whisker Biscuit and Golden Key shoot out rests, and I bought a Muzzy ZE but haven't installed it yet. The Whisker Biscuit
is okay for hunting, even if it eats my vanes a little. The Shoot Out I haven't used enough yet to comment. and the Muzzy ZE - well, I haven't seen a bad word yet. I resisted buying a ZE because of the complication, but so many people swear by them. Nobody I know who has one has removed it, which I can't say about any other rest. One of these days I am going to install it!

I have tried it and it does work well. The better opition is the GKF Mirage though. The arrow won't fall off the rest which is easy to do w/ the Trap Door and sometimes the Trap Door would fall if you hit the front of the bow or by carrying the bow with it facing the ground. Not big issues but the Mirage is a no brainer.. it always works and I don't have to recock it everytime I want to shoot. At the range it's no problem but if there's a deer 20yds away I don't need to be thinking about my equipment, if you know what I mean. The Mirage is also a little cheaper.
