Question about sights

Are there any downfalls to the sights that have a slider on the back for shooting different distances? For me, i shoot best when i only have one pin. So i figured this would be my best option. Any info is much appreciated. thank you.

RE: Question about sights

If your using the single pin that adjust's to the various range's it's a good choice for hunting ,there's not too many situation's while hunting that the single pin isn't sufficient for shooting .If the animal is more than 25 or 30yrds away then it won't take long to adjust at that distance .I use the Impact Archery Cosmic for hunting only because of this reason and that it's the brightest sight on the market .I can shoot flat up to about 30yrds and there's not too many time's you'll try shooting past this range while hunting.

RE: Question about sights

Movable sights are not a good choice for hunting. Its one more thing that you have to think about at the moment of truth. Deer are always moving closer or further from you and you dont need to be adjusting your sight at this time. Eventually you will forget to move it in the heat of the moment. It happened to my brother. The deer came closer and he forgot to move his sight. Shot high. Keep it simple Zach

RE: Question about sights

BFR!

All you need to do is to keep your pin set for 20 to 25yrds and anything in that range is dead without moving the pin and if the animal is another 5 yrds ofr so you can compensate for that very easily. You don't go changing your sight everytime the deer move's 5 or so yrds closer .In most hunting scenario's most hunter's don't try to take animal's that are further than 30yrds max.On the very rare situation and clear opportunity would a responsable hunter try to take a shot further than 30yrds so a single pin set for 20 to 25 yrds and a little practice and you'll know your sight for hunting season .
