Use of Deer Decoy

Purchased a Decoy last year, and have not used it yet.I hunt the piney woods of South Jersey.
Has anyone used one,and what has your experience been.

RE: Use of Deer Decoy

Hunting buddy of mine has used a decoy with much success the last couple of years in central Florida during the rut (bow season). It has amazed me how many nice bucks have come to the decoy (Flambeau redi-doe). In a couple instances we watched them come from several hundred yards away and walk right up to the decoy. A big advantage for the bowhunter is that when the buck approaches the decoy his mind is on the decoy, thus providing a better opportunity to draw the bow etc. One of the bucks that came to his decoy last year was the best archery buck killed on a 300,000+ acre ranch in central Florida.
