If you want to keep the wife happy and have extra money for stands and other goodies Keep the OutBack. It's great bow that shouldnt need to be replaced this early. No sense in spending what you dont have to.

Plus nobody in a Zillion years will ver convince me PSE makes a good bow..... But hey thats me......[8D]

I held a outback at the shop to see how it felt it was a ton of bricks. Go look at the pse i shoot a parker and can get 2 point from perfect with it. if you took all the names off a bow there would be alot of people getting new bows. How could pse stay in bussnes if the made a bad bow. They are cheap so what they have there own top class bows. They're in for the new hunters who aren't going to pay 700 hundred for a bow. You could sell your mathews and have some money left over after the new bow mabey. Could take the (boss) out to eat.

I have to agree with kbacon

I guarantee that most of you who said to keep the outback have never even shot the Vengeance. (probably never even seen one)

I personally own a Vengeance and its the best bow I've shot. I don't think that the name on the bow should make the decision, it should be how good it feels to you. Remember, everyone is different.

Go and shoot it, if it feels better trade in the outback, if not then keep it.

How many of you have actually shot the Vengeance?

Well I have.. and it's one sweet bow. Would I trade an outback in for one? You bet... if it fit me better and I liked it more. Screw the name that's on the bow... shoot what you like.
Have you actually shot the Outback?

I could care less what brand anyone shoots , they all make great bows.

This is what has me curious...
I would like too get a few opinions first before i drive 2hrs to shoot the Vengeance
Is there something you dont like about the Outback that has you looking into another new bow the following year?[&:]
Imo if your having trouble shooting good with the Outback (providing everything is setup and tuned properly) then you may have to look at what style (specs) of bow your shooting. If your fairly tall with a long draw you may want to avoid the shorter AtA bows all together. If your not confident with your current setup then I can pretty much guarantee that the PSE Vengeance is'nt going to be any different. The specs of the two bows are almost identicle.

Ata - 31 1/2"
Brace height - 7 5/8"
Weight - 4.3lbs
IBO 308fps

AtA - 34 1/2"
Brace height - 7 5/8"
Weight - 4.2lbs
IBO 308fps

I dont care what anyone says I dont see that as an upgrade , I'm not saying it's a downgrade either , I just dont see the logic. Both bows can and do shoot awesome when properly fit with the right archer.
Maybe you need to shoot some longer AtA bows with decent brace heights and see how they feel (whatever the brand)?[&:]

You really didn't expect to get any other answers than the ones you got to this post, did you?

Keep the Matthew's, buy the PSE and rotate your line up and have a great time. They hold their value. If you want to retire a bow build a trophy case and display it along with it's achievements. For a good time bring it out of retirement and show all the new guys on the team how it's done.

bowfanatic, as odd as this sounds, i shoot the outback just fine (for my standards). i also shoot my old bow just as well. i am sure that my wife will agree that i get caught up in this archery rat race with all this new technology and stuff. i guess i should have just asked what the vengeance was like rather than comparing the two bows. That being said i might try too talk the "boss" into going with nodog's advice.Icant help myself anymore when it comes too new gadgets in the archery world
